To help your toe socks retain their shape and comfort for as long as possible, proper care is important. In general, Knitido® toe socks can be easily washed in the washing machine. However, there are a few things to keep in mind due to the individual toe pockets and the different materials used.

Proper Care Starts When You Take Them Off

What does taking off your socks have to do with washing them? When it comes to toe socks, quite a lot.

First, pull the socks down over your heel, then gently remove each toe from its individual pocket. The easiest way is to carefully release them one by one. This helps prevent the toe pockets from turning inside out or becoming tangled with one another.

It also makes washing easier and helps ensure that all areas of the sock can be cleaned properly.

At What Temperature Can I Wash My Toe Socks?

There is no single answer, as the correct washing temperature depends on the specific style and the materials used.

Many of our cotton and sports styles can be machine washed at temperatures of up to 60°C. More delicate styles, particularly our Merino wool toe socks, require gentler care and, depending on the model, should be washed on a delicate cycle at temperatures of up to 30°C.

Whatever the style, always check the specific care instructions before washing. There you will find the recommended washing temperature for your toe socks.

Do I Need a Laundry Bag?

A laundry bag is not essential for most toe socks. However, we recommend using one for more delicate materials such as wool, as it provides additional protection during the wash cycle.

Can Knitido® Toe Socks Go in the Tumble Dryer?

We recommend not putting our toe socks in the tumble dryer. After washing, simply allow them to air dry on a clothesline or drying rack.

There is also no need to iron our toe socks, and the care instructions for our styles advise against ironing.

Proper Care Helps Extend Their Lifespan

How long a pair of toe socks lasts doesn't depend solely on the quality of the materials. How you wear and care for them also plays an important role.

In addition to washing them correctly, factors such as long toenails, rough heels, rigid footwear, very frequent wear or repeated friction in specific areas can put additional strain on the fabric.

Well Cared For, Made to Last

Caring for toe socks properly doesn't have to be complicated. Simply taking them off carefully, choosing the correct washing temperature and allowing them to air dry can help protect both the materials and the fit.
