Knitido Dr. Foot Silver Protect® toe socks protect your feet from bacterial and fungal infections as well as foot odor. Effective thanks to a secure cotton thread with a silver core.
The advantage of toe socks over conventional silver socks and chemical products: the thread works throughout the entire wearing time even in the places conventional socks can’t reach. The silver remains in the cotton thread of the sock and becomes effective only through direct contact with the outer shell of germs, i.e., only when it lies on the skin.
Heel, toes, and the spaces between the toes are particularly susceptible to germs. That’s why we’ve incorporated a cotton thread with a silver core at the forefoot and heel. On contact, the thread breaks down the outer shell of pathogens and kills them.
In particular, the spaces between the toes are protected retreat areas for bacteria and microbes. Favored by poor ventilation in footwear, a humid-warm "greenhouse climate" prevails here with ideal conditions for germs to multiply.
Toe socks improve the foot climate decisively by widening the spaces between the toes. This change in the microclimate – less temperature and less moisture – worsens the living conditions for harmful germs. The silver thread lying directly on the skin in the spaces can fight the germs locally.
Normal toe socks without silver fiber are already a step toward improving foot health, because they
Toe socks with silver thread also have an antimicrobial effect by attacking existing germs.
Conventional socks do enclose the entire foot, but they don’t reach between the toes. This presses the toes together and worsens ventilation and dehumidification of the spaces in between. This retreat and protected area for microbes is left out by the antimicrobial fabric, slowing down the effect and leaving a breeding ground for repeated infections.
The European textile labeling regulation provides no labeling option for silver threads in the material labeling.
Tests confirm that even after 200 wash cycles, 99% of the antimicrobial effectiveness remains.
