Have you ever wondered why Knitido toe socks arrive in plastic packaging? Here we explain the reasons behind it.
Why do your Knitido’s actually arrive in plastic packaging?
Knitido toe socks are produced in our own knitting facility in Wakayama, Japan, and are shipped monthly from there to Germany. There, they are sorted in our main warehouse at DHL, and some are forwarded to Amazon warehouses. Each of these warehouses has its own storage methods and rules regarding how goods must arrive.
So before the toe socks reach your home, they go through quite a long journey—and at many stages, we cannot directly oversee how they are handled.
👉 The plastic packaging of your toe socks is intended to protect them from transport damage and to guarantee the quality we promise you.
👉 In addition, socks are considered a hygiene product, and the plastic packaging helps to better maintain this hygiene.
So is it impossible without plastic?
That’s not entirely true: it is the most hygienic solution, but we are already looking for a suitable alternative that is more environmentally friendly while still protecting the toe socks.
