For over 30 years, Knitido has been producing toe socks using a variety of materials. Based on this experience, we define the care instructions for each of our products. Trust us your socks will thank you for it.
If you no longer have the sock labels with the care instructions, no problem. You can also find the specific care information on the corresponding product pages.
By the way: our toe socks do not shrink in the wash. We’ve already taken care of that by pre-shrinking them to the correct size during production.

People who wear toe socks tend to pay more attention to their feet. Even putting them on in the morning requires a level of awareness we rarely give our feet otherwise.
Take a moment to check in with your feet and toenails. If your nails are short and smooth, you can comfortably enjoy your toe socks. However, if you notice sharp edges or uneven nails, we recommend trimming them. In shoes, long toenails can act like tiny blades and damage the stretched sock fabric they are the number one cause of holes in socks.

One of the most delicate steps in producing Knitido toe socks is hiding the loose threads. These threads naturally occur during manufacturing and usually do not cause any issues when left inside the sock. Each individual thread is carefully tucked in by hand. Please never cut these threads, as this could cause the toe sock to unravel.
If you turn the socks inside out, you may notice loose threads between the individual toe compartments. During production, we make sure the threads are separated properly, do not tangle, and do not form loops that could pull the toe chambers together.
If a thread appears between the toe compartments after washing, try gently pulling it back inside using a thin crochet hook. Carefully insert the hook from the inside through the fabric, catch the thread, and pull it back inward with care.
Toe socks are exposed to greater physical stress than regular socks. We recommend removing your toe socks by first pulling them off at the heel and then gently sliding them off each toe individually. This helps protect the material and allows you to notice if a toenail catches on the fabric, so you can react before any damage occurs.
The toe pockets are the part of your toe socks that absorb sweat while you wear them. That’s why it’s important to clean them thoroughly during washing. The best way to do this is by turning the toe pockets inside out beforehand. Simply slide your fingers into the sock and pull the toe sections outward before washing.
People often ask us how to iron their socks. However, since sock fabrics are very sensitive to heat, we strongly advise against it.
If you still wish to iron your toe socks, please use the lowest heat setting and place a cotton cloth between the iron and the sock to protect the delicate fabric structure from damage.
Every garment releases lint during washing, which circulates through the washing machine with the water. As this water flows through your toe socks, the lint can easily get trapped in narrow areas especially inside the toe pockets.
That’s why we recommend washing your toe socks in a laundry bag.
Follow our care instructions to help extend the lifespan of your Knitido toe socks. We hope you enjoy wearing them for a long time to come.
